hujan live in da singapura!

well this is the long anticipated live performance from hujan rightchere in singapore! and they certainly didnt disappoint the people who paid high prices for a bloody sit-down concert! yes, hujan in a sit-down concert. can u believe it.

must be because oh well, there's no good place that can hold 1000 people indoors standing. plus also the fact that there are ria & tv3 people attending. mainstream media = peace.
noh even asked "kita kat showcase ke concert ni?" "kita bole buang tak tu kerusi semua?"

maybe next time they should hold it in some CC badminton hall or something.

the 1st 3 opening band was not bad. too bad the crowd didn't care. a big shame actually. the marilyns, this side up & act deux did their best to impress. at least i was.

then rain fell and the raingers made noise. they did 3 different sets, the newer songs, the slower songs, and the popular ones. one notable song they didnt perform was Neon. and no Ludah Amerika, for obvious reasons.

wasted they brought too little t shirts for sale. when i arrived they only had XL size, the size that u normally see in warehouse clearance sales.

but the concert was awesome awesome awesome. siapa tak datang rugi. siapa yang complain pasal the seats, yea me too. take the bloody seats out.

come back to singapore again! with more M-sized t shirts and no seats!

eff one

it's the time of the year, where all efforts of being environmentally friendly is being thrown out of the window. it's time for the f1 night race!

it's time to burn tons of jet fuel, suck up all the electricity, burst your ears, and bend down just so that the rich and famous can make this small island their playground!

de facto

in every group of friends, cliques, gengs, or watever u want to call it, there will tend to be a certain defacto leader of the group. one who will deny they are on top of everyone, but in reality their actions and words used are obviously putting themselves above everyone else.

another factor that qualifies them as the de facto leader is when almost everyone else in the geng puts that person/s as above their own selves. when the de facto leader says "yes", the rest will say "yes". when he says "no", the rest will say "no". but when one in the geng who wants to say/think otherwise, he will either be badly ridiculed by the rest, or ignored like he's a piece of trash, especially by the de facto leader. and when it hits the de facto leader personally, the rest will jump to their rescue as if the de facto leader is some kind of god.

makes u wonder what did this person do to give them the immunity.

i'm not a philosopher, i'm not an expert. i love to stereotype. but why i said what i said in the previous paragraphs, is because it involves me. sure, they won't admit it. they'll pretend to be surprised if told so. but that's the fact. somehow people i've known for years, and i've never felt like i fit in.

i'm not a follower, i've never been one. i like to think on my own. i'm a democracy, not a communist. for years they pull me back in, and for years i only witness how they blindly follow the "de facto leader", not caring for the rest with differing minds. and for years i voluntarily make attempts to disassociate from them, appearing once in a while just to show face for a small moment, just to make them think "yes, he's still one of us, still time to psycho him".

reality hurts for them if they know they are the ones i'm talking about. biasalah melayu pantang ditegur

now..

well it's certainly not bad when u have low expectations for hari raya, and it turns out what exactly u expected it to be.

no rain on pagi raya? check. people shedding crocodile tears? check. me going bankrupt? check.

now let's watch some local tv.

Annual raya tv show? Check. Halal foods songkok tinggi? Check. Ads of ppl pretending to salam each other? Check. Celebs giving raya wishes? Check. Thats suria for u.

Eh where's propnex's jingle & suria's yearly disgusting lagu raya?

oh no, propnex has gone the "First Lady" way of just wishing people. what happened to the jingle? i actually liked that song. Singtel has a hari raya ad! and it's not the typical "people pretending to salam each other" type of ad! it's something about a volkswagen samba. now that's what i call a iklan raya. Halal foods & first lady should learn a thing or two from them.

oh wow, this year's suria's lagu raya is actually quite nice! mucchhh better than the disgusting pieces of shit they creamed out in the previous years. must have learned their mistake already. plus i think AJ Pop Shuvit's contribution must have somehow did it.

but whatever, give me Media Prima or Astro channels anytime.

Duyung is being show both on TV3 & Suria at about the same time. wonder why this always happens every raya? some malaysian channel will show a movie on 1st syawal, and somehow Suria will also show the same movie either on 1st syawal or the 1st weekend in syawal.

well that's it for raya. let's go back to our normal daily lives

hurry hurry raya

it's that time of the year again. where the setan escape free, and influence people who worked so hard during ramadhan to just ruin it all, in order to celebrate hari raya to the fullest.

kinda sad when u realise that the mesjids wont be as full, donations wont be that much, and people will start fighting again. oh wait, people has always been fighting. just look at PKMS. when UMNO people fight, they use words. when UMNO's singapore branch PKMS fight, they use screwdrivers during ramadhan. how mature.

every hari raya u seem to notice the same old thing repeat over and over. people shedding crocodile tears when bermaaf maafan. why do u cry when saying sorry to one another during hari raya? then it's already obvious u are not sincere in asking for forgiveness, choosing to wait once a year instead of doing it immediately.

and also those matreps & minareps who never puasa, and dont deserve a hari raya becos they didnt bother doing the one thing which gives muslims the right to have a hari raya, will celebrate for one whole month as if they won the world cup finals.

i dont see a need to go jalan raya all the way until late at nite 2am, 3am.

someone wrote a letter and was published in the forum section of berita hairan. saying how he feels ashamed that the muslims in europe of all places, celebrate ramadhan to its fullest. but the community in singapore uses ramadhan to prepare for raya instead. i share his feelings too.

the thing is, so many of us malay/muslims dont understand why we celebrate hari raya, to the point it's so commercialised it almost becomes meaningless.

the celebration actually starts from rejab, syaaban and peaks all thru ramadhan. and it all ends at the first day of syawal.

think of it as it's the world cup, and 1 syawal is the post-match celebrations. malays view it differently.

and why do every hari raya malay TV drama show, the characters always fight each other? and suddenly turn good on the 1st day of syawal? let's see if the PKMS people are like that.

nevertheless, i would like to wish u all selamat hari raya aidilfitri, taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum. to those of u who puasa for one month, u deserve it. to those who couldn't really make it but tried hard, don't worry u did your best. have a hari raya for yourselves. to those quitters who didn't bother to puasa, jangan macam paham!

stay good & don't forget who your God is
